Premier League Update: Title Race Intensifies, Relegation Battle Heats Up
The Premier League is back in full swing after the international break, and the title race and relegation battle are both heating up.
At the top of the table, Manchester City and Arsenal are locked in a thrilling battle for the title. City currently hold a narrow one-point lead over the Gunners, but Arsenal have a game in hand. Both teams have been in impressive form since the start of the season, and it is likely that the title race will go down to the wire.
Behind City and Arsenal, Manchester United are in third place, but they are a distant 11 points behind the leaders. United have struggled for consistency this season, and it is difficult to see them making up the ground on the top two.
Tottenham Hotspur are in fourth place, and they are still in the hunt for a top-four finish. Spurs have been in good form since Antonio Conte took over as manager, and they will be confident of securing a Champions League spot.
Chelsea are in fifth place, and they are also in contention for a top-four finish. However, the Blues have been inconsistent this season, and they will need to improve their form if they want to challenge for the Champions League places.
At the other end of the table, the relegation battle is also heating up. Burnley are currently bottom of the table, and they are three points adrift of safety. Watford are in 19th place, and they are two points behind Burnley. Norwich City are in 20th place, and they are four points behind Watford.
All three teams are in danger of being relegated to the Championship, and it is likely that the relegation battle will go down to the final day of the season.
