Barclays Premier League: Week 2 Review and Match Previews
The Barclays Premier League is back in full swing, and Week 2 offered plenty of excitement and drama. From stunning upsets to thrilling comebacks, there was no shortage of action across the board.
In the match of the week, Manchester City came from behind to defeat Arsenal 2-1 at the Emirates Stadium. Arsenal took an early lead through Gabriel Martinelli, but City responded with goals from Erling Haaland and Jack Grealish to secure the victory. The result leaves City top of the table, while Arsenal drops to fourth.
Elsewhere, Liverpool continued their perfect start to the season with a 2-0 win over Burnley. Diogo Jota and Sadio Mané were on target for the Reds, who have now won their first two games of the campaign.
Manchester United also picked up their first win of the season, defeating Southampton 1-0 at St. Mary's Stadium. Bruno Fernandes scored the only goal of the game from the penalty spot, giving United some much-needed relief after their disappointing start to the season.
Tottenham Hotspur suffered a shock 3-0 defeat at home to Crystal Palace. Wilfried Zaha, Odsonne Édouard, and Eberechi Eze were on the scoresheet for Palace, who stunned the Spurs faithful with a dominant performance.
In other fixtures, West Ham United defeated Brighton & Hove Albion 4-0, while Leeds United drew 1-1 with Wolves.
Week 3 Preview
Week 3 of the Barclays Premier League promises to be another thrilling weekend of football. Here are some of the key matches to watch:
