Premier League 2015: A Mid-Season Table Update

The Premier League is approaching the halfway point of the 2015 season, and the standings are starting to take shape. After 19 games, Manchester City leads the table with 45 points, followed by Arsenal (42 points), Manchester United (39 points), and Leicester City (36 points).

Manchester City has been the most impressive team in the league so far, winning 14 of their 19 games. They have scored 46 goals and conceded just 13, giving them the best goal difference in the league. Sergio Aguero has been in particularly good form, scoring 15 goals in 19 games.

Arsenal has also been in good form, winning 13 of their 19 games. They have scored 40 goals and conceded 18, giving them the second-best goal difference in the league. Alexis Sanchez has been their standout player, scoring 11 goals in 19 games.

Manchester United has been a bit more inconsistent than Manchester City and Arsenal, but they remain in contention for the title. They have won 12 of their 19 games, drawing 3 and losing 4. They have scored 38 goals and conceded 20, giving them the fourth-best goal difference in the league.

Leicester City has been the surprise package of the season so far. They are currently fourth in the table, just three points behind Manchester United. They have won 10 of their 19 games, drawing 6 and losing 3. They have scored 32 goals and conceded 24, giving them the fifth-best goal difference in the league.

The rest of the top 10 is as follows:

  • 5th: Tottenham Hotspur (35 points)

  • 6th: Liverpool (33 points)

  • 7th: Everton (33 points)

  • 8th: Southampton (32 points)

  • 9th: West Ham United (32 points)

  • 10th: Stoke City (29 points)

The battle for the title is likely to go down to the wire, with Manchester City, Arsenal, and Manchester United all in contention. Leicester City could also be a factor, but they will need to maintain their current form.

The race for the top four is also very tight, with Tottenham Hotspur, Liverpool, Everton, Southampton, and West Ham United all in the mix.

At the other end of the table, Aston Villa, Hull City, and Sunderland are all in danger of being relegated to the Championship.

With 19 games still to go, there is still plenty of time for the standings to change. However, the teams at the top of the table are all in good form and will be looking to maintain their momentum.
