Manchester City also recorded a comfortable victory, beating Wolves 3-0 at the Molineux Stadium. Erling Haaland continued his prolific scoring form, netting his 10th goal of the season in just six appearances. Phil Foden and Bernardo Silva also got on the scoresheet for the reigning champions.

Liverpool, meanwhile, dropped points in a disappointing 2-2 draw with Fulham. Darwin Nunez put the Reds ahead in the first half, but Fulham fought back after the break through Aleksandar Mitrovic and Fabio Carvalho. Liverpool salvaged a point through Mohamed Salah in the dying minutes.

There was drama aplenty in the other matches of the weekend. Chelsea came from behind to beat West Ham United 2-1, with Conor Gallagher and Mason Mount scoring the goals for the Blues. Manchester United also recorded a comeback victory, beating Southampton 2-1 at St. Mary's Stadium. Bruno Fernandes and Diogo Dalot scored the goals for the Red Devils.

Rounding up the weekend's action, Brighton & Hove Albion drew 0-0 with Newcastle United, while Brentford and Leeds United played out a thrilling 5-2 victory for the Bees.
